Losing weight during breastfeeding: is it possible? |
The ideas received
We often think that because we breastfeed, we have to eat a lot more. Hunger is there, more than usual is a certainty, but however it would be prudent not to eat twice as much!
Depending on your metabolism (which can change depending on the period), you are either in the category of women who lose all their pounds of pregnancy after a few months of breastfeeding (I, 1st breastfeeding) or in the category of women who maintain Pounds even for breastfeeding (once again, 2nd breastfeeding).
From a scientific source, even if breastfeeding seems to increase the rate of weight loss over a certain period of time, the magnitude of this effect remains... modest! In fact, it depends on the duration, the intensity of breastfeeding, its personal characteristics, the weight taken during pregnancy (especially that!), its age, whether it is a first child or not, smoking and I am going... So do not breastfeed not necessarily lose weight!
Controlling your caloric intake, balancing your meals, is not going to give you a less good milk. Your milk will always be the most suitable for your child as it is yours. However, be careful with very restrictive diets, as this can still affect the amount of milk.
For example, women who breastfeed in other conditions than ours, I am thinking in particular of the women of the Bedouins in the desert in Egypt, and who have a totally different diet of ours, have a milk as good as a woman who lives in New York and leading a totally different existence!
If you vary your diet, your child will be able to discover more flavors through your milk. You will not deprive you of anything if you are only careful to control your intake instead of Dosizar the cooking fat. But there is no way to deprive yourself of fat for the case!
What can you do to lose weight
-We put on healthy, satiating food. If you have a craving, it is probable that your previous meal was not complete enough (vegetables, starch, proteins). Think! Preferably opt for a white cheese, tea and fruit during your snack.
-Do not starve, otherwise you will devour the next meal and that is where the gaps can arise...
-Long live the fruits without restriction! The banana at night is not a bad idea, it will calm you and it is healthier than the chocolate tablet (if so!)
-Do not deprive yourself of a little pleasure, but it may be a little more exceptional...
-Do not be separated at home; The whole family shares the same food.

What I did
I signed up for the WEIGHT WATCHers program, I let myself be guided and it works! I have learnt to eat, and to cook too! There is no forbidden food (OK avocado is bad if you want to lose weight) but a set of points a day and a reservation of weekly points. The more you move, the more you can "add " points and choose whether to consume them or not!
Weekly meetings with a confidential weigh-in, a personalized reception with trained animators, a great atmosphere with about thirty people on average (and there are even men), a theme directed every week, apps for your Smartphone, gifts... And I'm on it! In short, tons of concrete ways to help you really lose weight. I changed my (bad) habits and added some extra points on peak days... Level feeds!
